The issue between you and me is that I recognize our policy is all over the map and that Trumps ego made an unfortunate situation worse.

Morally I agree with you. These strikes won't do anything of real value other than send a message though. The situation is more complicated than simply removing Assad. Ultimately we don't really care what goes on there that much as long as its tying up Russian, Iranian, and Syrian resources.
