Castellano at Saratoga
With every big name jockey in racing showing for the saratoga meet, for
some reason over the past three years I have cashed more tickets on
Javier castellano than all others, and great prices. Watch Out

Excellent turf rider..always seems to be making the final well timed move of the race.

Has all the tools: smart, strong, good sense of pace and seems to know
where to place his mount. A real money rider.

I used to love betting on his horses, especially on the turf about 4 or 5 years ago. I don't think he's been nearly as good over the past few years until 2010. He rode pretty well in Florida, which carrried over to New York this year. However, he doesn't have a mount in either of the two stakes races or 2YO MSW opening day at 'Toga. He'll win his 20-25 races this meet and be around 5th in the standings. He's on a lot of morning line chalk the first two days, so we'll see what happens early on.

If the horse fits he'll give them a ride. I have been watching this year and there is a fire smoldering inside of him, a good honest rider

aggressive if not smart, he'll fight off closers with the middle-move horse whether on his own, or in tandem with tiring leaders.

He's surely underrated. Always liked him. I hope he does well up there.

I think he wins the jockey title with Pletcher the trainer title this meet.

I hope you followed your own advice, because if you did you had a hell of a day yesterday. Nice call!

Well I couldn't have been more wrong about him. Castellano's been riding solid the entire meet and I hope it comes down to the wire with him and John V.

Neat interview this morning with JJ on Saratoga Special hosted by Sean Clancy and a guy named Penna. He is one of a few jocks who are a good interview (Johnny V, Ramon, Kent D, Mike Smith) and even has a nice sense of humor. Loved him at Calder, love him in NY, love him when he rides for Weaver on turf.
