Jamie Theriot, jockey

Anyone have any idea what happened to him?
Last I read he was going to ride part time at Champs de Mer Race track on the island of Mauritius, and was due to return to the US for part of the year. This was in 2018.

I can't find any other info on him. He was a pretty good jock who won a few Breeders Cup races.
Maybe he decided to stay there year round??

I believe E. Castro is riding in the middle east (DUBAI ?)

He didn't last long with trainer Ramapatee Gujadhur, part of the team that brought him to Mauritius. He was suspended two race meetings for failing to follow trainer's orders, and the stable immediately parted with him.

No info after that.

He Tweeted from a Gulf Coast beach in May of 2020, but nothing since.

A lot of times it's exercise rider/pony person during the absence - come across more than a few of those.

Speaking of Louisiana jockeys and mysterious situations and wondering what the story is - whatever became of that CJ McMahon attempted murder charge around New Year's in 2021? Never heard anything further about the disposition of the charges. But he had no mounts from 12/28/20 until October 2021. He's been riding pretty steadily since then, and reasonably well.
