I've read and watched stories stating that because of increasing population and drought, Arizona and Nevada want to ship water from Louisiana because they think the Mississippi river has an endless supply of water.

FG has had loy of nice prices on formful horses.
I'm impressed with the product so far. My first year playing it other than the 3X races.

Nice card today with nine Stakes races, including the return of turf racing (allegedly).
An article I read said the turf races would be limited to eight runners because the rail will be way out at 34ft, however, Race 10 today still has ten runners in the field with only the #11 listed as a scratch.
I guess some are holding out to see if it will come off the grass.
Santa Anita will surely overshadow FG as they always do, but there are some nice betting opportunities on this 13 race card.
Good luck

Went to the races today at the Fair Grounds, $25 to get up to the clubhouse and $10 general admission. ONE teller on the whole floor (she said she didn't want another teller because she didn't want to split her tips) we were sitting at and only two waiters. We ordered our food as they were running the first and got our food during the post parade of the 5th. Gotta love Churchill.

I didn't even bother going today. It's bad there on a normal day, but on big days it's a joke.

BUMP
The good news is that the FG turf course is in great shape and ready to go.
The bad news is that we are getting a lot of rain and opening weekend is likely to be washed off the turf.

I don't play FG regularly, but when I do play I feel like I see way more square prices than at other tracks.

On another note, I'm happy to see a stakes race named after Larry Robideaux.
His box was next to mine for years and I got to know him fairly well.
Great guy, excellent trainer

I hate reading a page and a half or more before realizing it's an old thread.

Just noticed that FG is advertising their Thanksgiving buffet (which used to be opening day).
They've priced the buffet at $175.00
It does include entry, a table, tax, tip, and a program though
All I want to know is what they're going to do with all the leftovers.
