Who cares! The voters spoke and gave Hack Hochul 4 years - this is what New York wants. Let the idiots who buy these drugs murder themselves. It is one less vote for the Progressive Left.

Two years in to the implementation of this change and voters continued to support the politicians that passed this measure.

Deal with it.
I concur!

Just think what would happen to a person caught with the same dollar wise amount of illegal guns and ammo was turned lose without bail? Liberals would be screaming bloody murder.

That crap is way more dangerous than all other street drugs, including heroine, oxy, crack, etc. If a person was caught with a couple kilos of heroin would they get turned loose, in California or New York?

Sounds like a judge issue but if he had given him a bail amount and paid it then we're in the same position. But I agree in general that my fellow NYers get what they voted for.

I do think there needs to be a sane conversation about holding people. We certainly need to discuss how long trials take. Some guy in the Hudson valley just sat in jail for three years waiting for his trial for murder where he was acquitted. He could be a horrible person but my conservative butt doesn't like the idea of the state taking three years of someone's life when they can't prove the charges. Agents of the state taking someone's liberty is serious business.

Someone with that much Fentanyl isn't some two bit street dealer and probably has the connections and means to flee the country. In California some dumb ass judge gave no bail to a couple guys caught with less Fentanyl than this batch, they never showed up in court, and probably fled to Mexico where they were originally from. These are drugs that are cheap and easy to make, getting rid of the large scale traffickers is more import than getting rid of the stash.

I resent that remark. I wouldn't let that judge get 100 yards of me.
