Tragic isn't the word.
One of the most popular players to ever wear a Phillies uniform.
RIP Roy (Doc) Halladay.

For several years he was one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball. Also did a tremendous amount of charity work in both Toronto and Philiadelphia. He and Don Larsen the only two to throw a post season no hitter. One of the great ironies is that among pitchers with at least 50 innings pitched he had the WORST earned run average in baseball history, 10.64 his rookie season 2000.
to a Hall of Famer

I am absolutely heartbroken by the news, Doc was my all-time favorite Blue Jay.
The term “Ace” gets thrown around a lot in baseball, to the point where it makes me cringe, but Roy Halladay was the quintessential definition of the term “Ace”, a once in a generation talent.
His drive and his determination were second to none, and he carried himself with a lot of class throughout his career, Doc will always be a Legend in this city.
We miss you big guy.

TMZ has witness accounts and video of Halladay.. they say he had been aggressively diving and pulling up the plane over the water for days..

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. EST at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Florida. The service will be open to the public.
Spectrum Field is located at 601 Old Coachman Road. The baseball stadium, which is home to Halladay’s former team the Philadelphia Phillies during Spring Training, has a capacity of 8,500.
Sportsnet in Canada will be televising the event starting at 3 pm EST, not sure if it is being televised in the U.S.
