So how are you celebrating the holiday?
Cook out?
Beach?
Boating?
Me, watching races, cooking some hot dogs and potato salad, a few beers.
Nothing elaborate......
I do have some nice big brownies for later....
Hopefully I can see the fireworks tonight.
Maybe drive down to the lake and watch.
Great weather here.
Lake was crowded Saturday....very few masks, not much distancing.
Lots of boats on the lake.

I don't know - but I have heard them the lest three nights.
Seems to be coming from down by the lake - south of me.
Can't see from my yard due to trees.
But definitely Fri/Sat?sun night.
Just assuming if I go to the lake I will see them.
They have been having the Chicken BBQ's the last few weekends at that place at the end of Lake Shore Drive by the bridge to old Roseland - maybe it is them?
Could be the fairgrounds - that would be in my line of "sound."
Everything else has been cancelled.

Saturday, as a family, we went and visited graves of family members. Yesterday, we went to the Calamus reservoir and did some grilling and fishing. Today I have repaired 4 window wells on a rental we own, because of water leaks.

The cure is worse than the disease ... Governor still has the gyms closed, not allowed to reopen until the end of June. I'm down twelve pounds so I figured I'd break out the old running gear, but alas, governor orders masks when out in public. I'm feeling unhealthy as I've ever been so today I said **** it, and went out for a little run without a mask. I may catch the covid but I sincerely doubt it.

Riding our bikes in the parade used to be a big deal.
We'd put cards in our spokes to make them sound like a motorcycle...he he!
But I would always save a bunch of them to play blackjack with later.

Never shop with a woman
After breakfast and a leisurely lunch, the ball and chain wanted to go shopping for a few things at Macy's about 5 miles down the road. It was 9.2 miles. We walked in and went to the bedding section to get what I thought would be a 4 minute visit. 40 minutes later we finally exited the store. Fortunately, the furniture section was nearby and I found an easy chair which I tested out for half an hour.
Most people wore masks including me. A good number didn't mess with it or wore them low or on one ear. A friend told me yesterday that I could wear the mask on top of my head like a beanie and that would comply with the directives. I might try that next time out.
I had an okay time, but I was 90 minutes late for happy hour upon my return to my neck of the woods.
Hey, I got two free meals out of the deal, so I shouldn't complain.

I rode around a while looking for fireworks, but never saw any and never heard them again.
Strange I heard them three night in a row, then none on the holiday.....
Oh well, 4th of July is coming!
