You mean from those that were outraged when Obama kowtowed to the Arabs on his apology tour? Don't hold your breath.

I got up close and personal with ROKAF officers in the 60's, many of whom had deep-seated hatred of North Korea as it was not that long after the "police action." I'm sure there is plenty of outrage in South Korea and at the Pentagon.

Better they be outraged than the ones Trump is trying to convince to denuclearize. If Trump hadn't returned the salute, that would have been insulting to the general who saluted our Commander-in-Chief first.

You libs have about as much class and couth and as many social graces as a Florida Palmetto Bug.

I'd be outraged if I equated a salute with a subservient bow...but I'm not insane, so I don't do that.

How come some of you just can't go, "yeah... he probably shouldn't have done that?"

What dirt does he have on you people?

Why shouldn't he have done it?

I'm pretty sure I never got bent out of shape for Obama bowing either...so I'd like to know...why shouldn't Trump have saluted back?

What was the great worldwide crisis that now ensues because of this?

Does it mean we have to start using NK military tactics in the US armed forces?

Stop being as ridiculous as everyone else. I know, it's more red meat for you...you can't help yourself.

But I'll tell you this one thing. You know how I know that I'm right about a topic in your eyes? You never show up in the thread...

How do you even know it was addressed to you?

I didn't bring up Obama.

It's a bad look. We have 30,000 service members over there to kill that guy he saluted. Bad look. That's it.

Good manners trumps bad looks. And besides, your "bad look" excuse is very lame, for every military person knows that when an inferior rank salutes a superior, the protocol is that the latter returns the salute. The NK general was polite and showed deference to the U.S. Commander-in-Chief by initiating the salute.

And I would suggest that Mosty, who started this thread, knew this because he intentionally omitted the fact that Trump returned the salute. Mosty wanted to mislead us into believing that Trump initiated the salute -- that Trump is so dumb that he went around saluting anything in a military uniform -- he even saluted Privates Second Class.

I don't fault Trump for this. He extended his hand, the General ignored it and saluted instead, so Trump impulsively saluted back. Shrug. Bad optics, I guess, but not really worthy of dissection.

He shouldn't have saluted. I think the precedent is to just ship a half billion in unmarked bills and declare victory.

Not enough!
Throw the plans for a nuclear device on the pallet along with a prototype warhead.

And then apologize for the USA to every Korean he sees for the next month.

We played golf with him one day in July and played Winter fairway rules. He caught us jacking the ball up for a sweet lie from 180 out. Needless to say we've all been his slave ever since... Oh the shame we feel...
