Really? What are they teaching about origins, if not evolution?

Christianity might as well pack it in !

In your post#6883 you asked "Isn't evolution taught in all schools?" Starting with the Scopes trial in 1925 almost all schools nation wide simply did not address the topic of origins, and biology textbooks also avoided the subject. This practice lasted until the 1960s. The operative word in your question is "all." My guess is that there are a few schools out there who are still avoiding the topic, ergo, not "all" are teaching evolution.

But probably most! So...what's your beef?

If a school district doesn't want to teach anything about the origins of the universe, then they should have that right.

You are the one who seems to have a beef. As for me, SCOTUS has decreed that the teaching of creationism in public schools is unconstitutional, ergo, things are going my way. Kitzmiller v. Dover determined that "intelligent design" is just another form of creationism, ergo, also unconstitutional.

Apparently in Pennsylvania they do not. In Pennsylvania the law decrees that evolution will be taught in science class. I am unaware of any legal challenges to this law. I doubt that there are or ever will be any.

As I would expect the enemies of God to rule.

Probably not. The nature of man is such that it prefers to hear things that will tickle its ears and feed its heart with more corruption.

Got me. Except to say way long before we came onto the world scene.

This sentence is an appeal to emotion and/or an appeal to consequences. Two sides of the same coin. One side says "believe this and you will feel good." The other says "if you don't believe this you will feel bad."

Reality is under no obligation to comfort you. If comfort is what you want then buy a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Oh, come on. Don't be simplistic. You believe what you do because it makes you feel good. I'm also guilty as charged! I believe what I know to be true and that certainly makes me feel good, as well.

No I don't. I believe what I believe because that's where the evidence leads.

I don't know that. For all I know you could be a guy who raises cats because he makes money making violin strings from their intestines.

Right. Right where you want it to lead to make you feel comfortable.

I know it experientially and from the holy scriptures.
