You Know, I haven't heard the word Syria mentioned for a week or longer.

Is their civil war over?

while I agree with you, there is a presidential way of responding and he failed that.

Why did he waste time sitting down with a reporter when he should have been sitting down with Congress?

I know you lefties are big on sound bytes and weak on facts, but here are couple.

There have been 53 debt ceiling raises since 1971 (73?)
In 27 of them there were conditions added that had nothing to do with the budget. Over half.

And the president never refused to negotiate. Until this liar.

See, THIS is the stuff a free press should be reporting, not taking sides.

Fact is, the right is the only side that has been trying to re-open the government. If you think otherwise, you think wrong. For some of you, a way of life.

Right, that's why Boehner refuses to allow a vote on a clean CR, cuz he's too busy trying to re-open the govt

all this talk of clean resolution is bogus, when people say we want a clean resolution it means "give us what we want".
what is unprecedented is that one side refuses to negotiate.
the fact that we have been 5-6 years running the government on continuing resolutions is a disgrace and a dereliction of duty on the part of Harry Reid.

A CR is not a budget. They are required to pass a budget not a CR.

Usually you would be right but not in this case. Both sides want to reopen the government and it would be reopened if Boehner called the bill that passed out of the Senate to the House floor which doesn't give the Democrats anything that they wanted. And most House Republicans would vote for it also. Seems pretty cut and dry to me, but some you just don't get it or pay attention.

It doesn't give the Repubs anything they want. That's the key. If you're going to go this far you might as well get something for it. 87 % of he Government is running. 17 % shut down. It's a good start.

I guess the turn around on Obama's position on negotiating is not a surprise.
