His job approval is going to be a lot worse when people find out what is in that bill by experiencing it.

Obamacare hides switch of subsidies from young to old, says study

A new analysis of Obamacare prices says the much-touted taxpayer subsidies for young people are smaller than promised.

The missing subsidies will jack up costs for young, healthy people who are single and childless, which may deter many from joining the government-run network. This, in turn, would likely boost Obamacare’s costs to all taxpayers.

Older people get larger subsidies because older people pay much larger premiums. The Kaiser Foundation has a subsidy calculator.
These are all generic US averages. Actual premiums may vary.
A 27 year old earning $60,000 a year pays $2657 annually in premiums.
A 55 year old earning $60,000 a year pays $5653 annually in premiums.
Neither one receives a subsidy. The 55 year old is paying more than double the premium of the 27 year old, which is OK because his claims are likely much higher.

At $40,000 a year the 27 year old again pays $2657 in premiums. He receives no subsidy.
The 55 year old once again pays $5653 in premiums. He receives a subsidy of $1853. His actual premium cost is $3800. He is still paying $1143 more than the 27 year old.

Only when you reach a salary around $30,000 a year do the subsidies even out so both people are paying the same out of pocket for their premiums-$2512.

A question that you haven't addressed is why the 27 yo has to join and pay the $2,657 in the first place. I thought America was about freedom of choice and using your God given brain to assess you own risk/reward needs. Or is the govt now saying that they are smart enough to think for you now??

ObamaCare is a new social entitlement program at a time when even many on the left were questioning major increases in government spending. It was sold to the public, and to the low information legislators who did not read the bill, by claiming that it would not result in an increase in taxes.

Insurance is based on voluntarily shared risk, and on premiums that reflect individual risk as determined by actuarial studies. Payments by some in excess of what they would pay in a free market are taxes used to subsidize others. It is a hidden tax, because an overt tax would be politically unpopular.
