Da' Masters

Starts tomorrow. All kinds of live feeds on Master.com.

FYI, Tiger will be in the featured group with all 18 holes streamed. He tees off at 10:34am EST.

My longshot pick is Molinari.

But to be serious, I think Cam Smith should have a terrific chance. He's never played this well.

FM is 150-1 to win. I bet $50 on him and backed up with a top-5 bet at 26-1.

Bet MGM has a lot of them for players in the first round. You don't need an account to see them. Tiger is +4,000 to win it all.

The Masters has gone way overboard with the romance of their tradition. I find myself almost puking at times, with some of the comments and "analysis".

But, I'll still be watching on Sunday.

I imagine Tiger will continue to "steal the show" as long as he makes the cut and can negotiate the course with his fused back and repaired leg. The crowds following his round are insanely large.

The Tiger coverage is too the extreme. Amazed he played so well, but I cannot see him keeping it up over the course of 4 rounds.

I wonder also why he doesn't use walking sticks? I assume they would be allowed and it would help take the load off of his legs on that hilly course.
At one point I saw he used his driver for support while walking up the fairway of one hole.

Funny too, I have heard very little of Phil not playing this year, even though it is the first time since it looks like 1995 that he has not been in the field. I guess some traditions are more important than others.

Conditions might get rough later in the day today.

Tiger is who everyone wants to see. I don't see how he plays golf with a fused lower spine, that caused me to have to give up the game in my late 30's. I was no Tiger, but a high single digit handicap. There are more bets to win on Tiger at the books than everyone else combined, as I heard on the radio. If he wins the books take a bath.

I love watching Tiger. He's been one of the featured groups in the first two days on the livestream coverage from the Masters website. I see he's one of the Saturday featured groups too.

https://www.masters.com/en_US/live/index.html

Featured Groups for Saturday, April 9:
10:30 a.m. – Viktor Hovland, Min Woo Lee
11:30 a.m. – Tony Finau, Cameron Champ
1:00 p.m. – Kevin Kisner, Tiger Woods
2:00 p.m. – Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris
2:50 p.m. – Scottie Scheffler, Charl Schwartzel

Go Tiger!

I bet the book managers are no longer nervous now that Tiger is 9 shots back. He was even money at Bet MGM to make the cut, pretty sure they took a hit on that one. Tiger is one of those guys no one will write off until it is glaringly obvious the old Tiger is long gone.

Looks to be a 2-man race heading into Sunday at The Masters.

The 2 hottest players on the planet rightfully square off with Scottie Scheffler holding a solid 3 stroke lead over Cameron Smith; and the tournament squarely on Scheffler's broad shoulders to win or lose.

Maybe Sungjae Im can make a run from 5 back, but even Lowry in 4th is a full 7 shots back.

Unless the 2 leaders shoot a 40 on the front 9 today, the normal Masters back 9 drama has been simply reduced to a 2 man, if not 1 man, show.

Congrats to Scottie Scheffler.

Winless on the PGA Tour before 2/12 this year, now a 4 time winner and Major Champion.

Pretty well dominated the field from start to finish.
