Does it really matter if you win $200 bucks in an online contest? Rules are rules, just deal with it kids!

PA,
Don't understand how the highlighted bullets will work. Against how many competitors will each team play each saturday? (Put another way, what is the maximum number of points a team can win each week?)

Thank you.

Thank you.
Kelso,

Once we know the final number of teams, we will set up Divisions for each team to play in.

Example:

* 42 Teams signed up
* Set up 6 Divisions of 7 Teams each
* A schedule would be drawn up where each Saturday, Division 1 would play either Division 2,3,4,5 or 6; as well as some Saturdays where we would see Division 1 play itself.
* For every team you are up against and beat your team would receive 1 point.
* So, if your team finished 1st vs all the other teams in another division you would receive 7 points for that weekend.
* If you finished 1st in an inter-divisional matchup you will have beaten 6 teams and would receive 6 points for that weekend.

Hope that helps,

Trotter

Darn, I was really hoping for some 3yo & up, WV bred, N2L, F&M, $2,500 Claiming, 4f dirt races.

Those are my specialty. (on off tracks only, of course)

I think everyone read the rules, but there are still some questions. Don't reply if it bothers you so much. This isn't all about "bragging rights" or "a few sheckles" (as you so aptly call it). There is real money involved, and teams want to do the best job they can. If you have all your stuff in order, then just don't reply.

7. POINTS

· Once all teams are signed up a Schedule will be created.
· Based on 50 Teams we will have 5 Divisions of 10 Teams each.
· Teams will play divisional or non-divisional games as a group each contest weekend.
· For each team you beat on a card your team receives one point.

8. PLAYOFFS

· The top 5 teams in each division will make the playoffs
· 3 Wildcard spots will be awarded.
· Quarter-Finals will have 28 Teams.
· Semi-Finals will have 15 Teams.
· The two-days Final will consist of the top 8 advancing Teams.

RULES AMMENDED DECEMBER 29, 2010
Don't we have 10 divisions of 5 instead of 5 divisions of 10? If so, what does this mean for how many teams make the playoffs? Also, for scoring, the sheet shows (for example) Team 1 verus Team 6 which could result in 9 points. If there are only 5 teams in a division, does this mean Team 1 is also playing themselves in each divisional game, or should it only be worth a possible 5 points?

Edited in my response here:

* I have to adjust the original post for playoff spots.

* Yes, if Division 1 plays Division 2, all 10 team are pooled for that week and the top team would earn 9 points for beating 9 teams; the bottom team would receive zero points for that week.

I THINK THE WINNING TEAM EACH WEK SHOULD ONLY GET LIKE 5 POINTS )MAX)
NOT 10 CAUSE IT COULD BE A RUNNAWAY CONTEST IF ONE TEAM GETS HOT A COUPLE WEAKS IN A ROW

I say let the man run his contest. If needed, it can be tweaked next year before the 2nd PAIHL.
