Question for the people here:
Where does the money go?
I was thinking last night...Who actually makes money off the sport of horse racing?
Owners? Yeah, right. Small % turn a profit. Most lose their shirt. Owning horses is very expensive.
Players? No way. Most people you see at the track are lifetime losers. Small % win money.
Tracks? hahahaha.
TV networks? If they do, why has coverage dropped dramatically in recent years?
Trainers/Jocks? - maybe the top 10% make very good money. Vast majority probably struggle to pay bills.
OK, so none of the game's main players listed above make money, the question is: WHERE THE HELL DOES ALL THE MONEY GO?

Since the question is for smart people, we need to hear the definitive answers from Dahoss, TLG and Andymays. Andymays, especially for So. Cal. racing.

For the record, I don't think I'm that smart, just an easy question.

Oh, and trainers and jockeys. They seem to do ok, at least the competent ones.

It didn't work. But as always your petty jealousy is appreciated. Let's not ruin another thread, huh?

Fair to say: the horses. They'd never be able to afford this type of life if not for horse racing. Probably wouldn't even be able to afford rent or dental care.

Breeders were left off the list.
BTW Dahoss I like the petty jealousy part.

What else would you call it? Would obsession be better? You continue to focus an awful lot of attention on me. It has to be something.

I don't know what you call it, but you should know, since you stalked me first. Late last year and earlier this year, you started showing up in every thread I posted in with a wise-ass comment about me.
So I defer to your knowledge of "obsession.
Always stays the same, the ones that dish it out can't take it when it is given back. I call it giving it back.
