Hi Boss,

A congenial poster here.

I don’t know what reckless said off topic. What I do know is that he was a positive contributor in the “Trading the financial markets.”

In your very honest attempt to be fair here, I sometimes think that you favor political correctness too much.

Sometimes, decent contributors get banned for an outburst. It has happened to me in Bars.

Some of these “sanctuary” posters are stopping some old time, experienced, contributors from telling their story; something I very much appreciate.

This is a horse player’s site! We are all wrong most of the time.

Just my opinion,

I sell 20-25K worth of my holdings every January. We spent the money on some home improvement things but that's all done now.The reason I sell in January is that these holdings are PROFITABLE and tax must be paid.Better to delay that 16 months.I have four holdings (Union Pacific, Verizon, Textron and Eversource) that I've owned for over 30 years, two mutual funds since 1977,etc. Reinvest the dividends and capital gains. And haven't gotten the vapors about the last two weeks. Twinges yes.I figured my total portfolio has lost at least 60,000 the last 2 weeks, probably more.Maybe this is what's needed to get the amatuers out.Dumb money. But I have enough cash on hand until at least 2022/23 without selling uno share.Own two properties outright. The one in the Dominican Republic goes up for sale in a year or two, will get us 150 to 160 thousand minimum.Don't owe a nickel (or peso) to anyone in the world.

Trading's for suckers.Go to Vegas. At least you can catch a show.Buy and hold is better but not ideal.

Having a PLAN and sticking to it. That helps you sleep at night.

It is not the same animal it was 15 years ago, so much has changed. Today is a fight between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Remember Y2K, completely different landscape with Brick and mortar essentially gone today.

Zero commissions, point and click executions. Penny spreads between bid and ask.

All futures are up....BUY BUY BUY

Look at that monthly chart of the S&P....trend line still intact...in fact, today's low is right about hitting the trend line started around the low in 2008.

Also, volume on this move the past couple weeks has been comparatively LIGHT....VIX only went to about 40-50...during 2008 it was pushing 70...

This is babyshit...a shakeout of dumb money....BUY BUY BUY!

lulz

Yeah, trading is a casino, but "buy and hold" is sound financial wisdom....except when it ISN'T (like those who bought and held this most recent top).

double lulz

Since the FTSE 100 in the UK and the DAX in Germany were down in the same 7% range as our Markets, let's see how they open and track the first couple of hours before forming a "buy" opinion here...

Lock-stepping seems to be the pattern to watch and follow.

I was kidding in 1347 (kinda like an "obviously sarcastic" post/call)...the one and only long term opinion I've made in this thread I've caught massive shit for and even had cartoons drawn about.

I don't give a **** where the market goes long term....cause according to most playas, it goes only one way...up.

All you geniuses have it all figured out anyway...have at it.

I'm done working myself up for no reason.
