Going to Claiborne.

I posted a while back that I was going Kentucky. One of the farms I am going to visit on June 22 @ 11:00 am is Claiborne Farm. I am super excited to see Orb and the cemetery of all the past champions.

You'll enjoy it immensely; the folks there are great and love what they do and the horses in their care. First time I went was back in the winter of 94-95, when Lure briefly occupied Secretariat/Easy Goer's stall. Got my photo with Mr. Prospector and Danzig. Still cherish that trip.

Are you visiting any other farms? In case you haven't seen it in other threads, a trip to Old Friends is really worth it. It's amazing how many top-class horses are there, starting with Silver Charm.

My all time favorite horse of Claiborne that is alive is Orb. I picked him in the 2013 Kentucky Derby because I loved the trainer and the owners. I saw the colors when I was watching the Florida Derby and had no clue who he was then I was like "Are those Ruffian's colors?" I was so excited to find out he was owned by the Janneys.

I wanted to go see Zenyatta, Giacomo, and Holy Bull.

My other big bucket list is to see the Calumet Trophy Collection. 50 Years of prizes in one area. WOW!

Me with my Kentucky Derby Hero Orb! I loved it at Claiborne. I got to meet War Front and Blame. Thank You Mr. Bill Buckley for guiding the group. Also the best part about going to Kentucky was meeting a man named Mr. Shaun Washington of whom I went on his Unique Farm Tours twice. I made a friend for life. Sorry for my goofy expression. I guess that is what someone looks like when they are star struck. lol.
