Kicked out of Nirvana and Soundgarden, he joins the Rangers. That wasn't enough so he joins Special Forces.

Soundgarden one of the two biggest bands in the world? Not in the world I reside in. That is a bit of a stretch.

Sort of an interesting article from 2013. It doesn't seem like he was ever fully a part of either band though but unusual all the same especially when coupled with military life and an Ivy League degree.
