From a 2011 Newsmax interview with Gorbachev:
"Of course, this is still not over, but we were able to give [the Russian] people freedom, freedom of movement, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion — all of those freedoms that" our people wanted."
Here's the entire article ... I think there's a typo... the Newsmax interview was in 2011, not 2020, unless I'm mis-readig something here.

I think it's important for us Americans (I know there's other countries represented here) to realize that Russia has a much different culture than we have. But, all too often, we think that everything about America is best and we try to force it on the rest of the world, This is especially true right now for the left-wing Democrats, the Media and Entertainment industry, and progressives. And, just for the record, I despise Communism. Long story short, I did not vote in the 2016 election because most of my news sources back then were the "main-stream" media, and, based on that, I found both candidates to be repulsive. It was only after Trump was elected that the Wall Street Journal had to "come clean" with his platform (and the RINO Republicans didn't give him 10% of it), and I am now a big supporter of his.
But, I think that the Reagan-Gorbachev "partnership" did wonderful things.
