Rocky was a really good movie. Maybe 3/5 for quality and acting, but 5/5 for emotions and for using some reality and character in the movie. If Rocky were made today, I'd be worried that Rocky's character would now start out in a large open-floorplan house with a kitchen island. There'd be no turtles. Adrian would be blonde and hot, everything would be filtered and bright, the camera would shift perspectives every three seconds, and Rocky would have won the fight.
In general don't like Stallone whatsoever as an actor, but I have no 'ill will' or anything toward the guy.

You can never reproduce this greatness. Ever. (Yes, I realize it is R3)

First Blood then Rocky. Rocky 2 would be third.

It's Get Carter, not Call Carter. Based on an old Michael Caine movie.

The Rambo movies should not have been a franchise at all. First Blood is the best of the lot. It's about a guy with PTSD. In the book Rambo dies. Kirk Douglas was supposed to play Trautman but backed out when they changed the ending. I think the DVD has the "Rambo dies" ending as an extra.

You are correct ,First Blood has about as much to do with the rest of the Rambo movies as " Breakfast at Tiffany's"

Dropped the tablet and in picking it up tapped the post reply button by mistake.
I did (unintentionally) get the "Yo" part of "Yo, Adrian".

Loved the original Rocky for some of the reasons previously stated. I can still watch it every couple of years, in spots, and it continues to produce the goosebumps and occasional emotional response...

I think Cliffhanger should have been one of the choices. I love that movie, watching it over and over.
