casino opening today
I used to play small poker tournaments occasionally at Angel of the Winds, until they closed their poker room for more slots. They are opening today even though gov Insley has state in lockdown.

Are there any other casinos open in US?

Casinos may find a way to open, but I suspect they are going to keep their poker rooms closed indefinitely. Then when they do consider opening again, they could institute new parameters which players are unwilling to accept. (A day before they closed everything down my local casino was mandated by their state to limit tables to a maximum of 5 players. Most of the folks I know are not willing to play under that limitation going forward.).
Home games are an option if one can find them but they become harder to beat (and more boring) with time given their very small player pool. Maybe now is the time to explore one's on-line poker options.

it will be interesting to see what WSOP does. I have seen pictures of many tables crammed together. Last year they had a couple 'online' bracelets.

I can't believe that online poker hasn't gotten a recent push by any of our cash-hungry politicians. If not now...WHEN?

They're too dumb to figure out how to rig it yet...
Give them some time, a sharpie will show up with the game plan soon.

Illinois is so cash-poor that they have become the most gambling-friendly state in the country...other than Nevada. Every single eating establishment has been allowed slot machines...and all of them have been shut down for over a MONTH now. No one even DARES to guess when the casinos throughout the state may open again. And not even a peep in Springfield about the legalization of online poker? How freaking dumb could these state politicians BE?

Having played home games for 25 years, I found them easier than games with all strangers. When new guys showed up, they were usually indeciperable until they played a few times. A former DA for our county came to one of the home games years ago. He would later become semi-famous because he blew out one of his eyes with a spud gun, while celebrating the 4th of July with his semi-famous brothers. Three of them died unexpectedly in bizarre ways, over the next couple years.

The Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races will be re-opening back up on 06/08.
The statement says social distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced in areas where lines normally form, and the table games will have a maximum occupancy based on the type of game. Food options will be limited and of the pre-packaged variety. Masks and health screening (probably temperature check) required for staff. Health screening required for customers, with masks encouraged but not mandatory.
My guess is the poker will be 5-handed (i.e. every player/dealer has an open chair both to their left and right). My experience is that most live players greatly dislike playing short-handed because it is more devoid of action, and 5-handed would be pushing the limit. Another consideration is that the current game rake is not reduced in half until it is 4-handed, so this could be another factor against players wanting to play unless they are desperate.
Now that I have been very active in on-line play, I feel no need to rush back to live play. I will enjoy live play though once full table action is allowed to return.

Maryland does not allow the better known sites like Ignition or America's Poker Room.
Do some research on PokerBros (PPPoker). The clubs are like playing in a private home game.

It is either an update or I missed it the first time.
The Poker Room is not opening 06/08 and will remain closed indefinitely. Not surprising with current social distancing guidelines at 6 feet, which is not possible at the poker table.
In checking the BRAVO system I see a number of Poker Rooms open in Florida. I checked out the website of one I have been to about a dozen times at Oxford Downs in Summerfield. They reopened about 2 weeks ago with various restrictions. Poker tables appear to be 6-max. One of the multiple conditions for entry is wearing a mask and signing a liability waiver.
