I had my phone on mute and missed it (see the message though, so I did get it)...I thought these alerts bypass mute? Could have sworn that with weather alerts and amber alerts, I would hear that piercing alarm no matter if I had it on mute or not...
Oh well...

My phone didn't make the same sound as when I get Amber alerts. It was pretty annoying & loud. I have a flip phone. I heard it over a noisy riding mower.

I was on a call. Took screen shot of my Iphone
It came in the middle of a call. Mine was quick, 5 or 10 seconds my phone was taken over. Thankfully the person on the other end was still saying "can you hear me?" when the buzz stopped.
Amber alerts are louder and give 2-4 blasts. This was was just vibration for 10 seconds.

I've heard from some that it didn't work for them.
I got it though but didn't get any noise.
Overall a pretty smart idea though... Civil Defense in the Cold War woulda killed to have something like this.

Weird that I have a thick flip phone model that was probably sold a dozen years ago and my phone made more noise than new smart phones. It was almost as annoying as the air raid sirens they test once a month because I am close to a nuke plant.
