One of the things Roger (RIP) did was staunchly defend his
long time friend Mr Baffert. His response to anything unusual
about Baffert's results, injuries, etc was that BB was so
successful, why would he resort to using drugs and jeopardize his
reputation and business. You can apply your own insight into
that circuitous and ironic logic.
Regarding Mr Stein's interviews which were the best part of the show.
He tended to do interviews in one of 3 ways.
1) if he liked you, his questions were very close to softball
2) if he didn't like you, his questions were contentious
3) almost all of his questions were long winded soliloquies
which were either designed to show how smart Roger was
or basically frame the question in a way that made it so the
interviewee had very little to add or very difficult
or awkward for them to disagree.
