Unlike Santa Anita - don't worry, LArry Collmus is safe.
He will be in the booth for 8 cards starting tomorrow.

What is Bill Nader up to these days? He should be the first choice.

He had NYRA employee's doing some landscaping at his house I read. Seems over-the-top to demand immediate resignation for that minor indiscretion. My spidey-sense says more to come.

I wonder if this will change any of the plans for grandstand renovations at Belmont, a synthetic track for winter racing, new restaurants, night racing etc...
Does this mean we can put the Met Mile back on Memorial Day? :-)

First thought I had when I saw it.
And the second.

It's not a mild indiscretion if they're doing full remodeling job at NYRA's expense, but the most likely reason for his resignation would be:
a) sexual harassment
b) misappropriation of funds
c) monkey business at the track

Why even bother speculating on something we are all clueless about (except for the already publicly disclosed having NYRA employees do work on his home)? I mean, they gave you a big fat clue right there, and you're posting about sexual harassment?

Yeah, and despite what fuss says I don't think that would be considered minor at all in this day and age.
Who knew the little guy had a green thumb?

I'm thinking if Kay had a few guys raking leaves, or even had his house painted by NYRA employee's, they'd make him write a reimbursement check and wind down what he's doing in 30-90 day time-frame.
NYRA is deep into Saratoga renovations, debt funding with municipal bonds to finance Belmont renovations, casino deals, TV and Media Deals, etc...
Kay also brought in McKinsey who produced an expensive road map.
To kill it like this over house repairs.....seems reckless. He had to have been caught deeper than that. This is a costly firing.
