Greatest....idea...ever....
Not sure it will work in practice...but damn...why didn't I think of that?
https://calvinayre.com/2018/08/21/ca...ng-grandstand/
PS. When first seeing this headline, I thought it said "Full Card Reports" And I was like damn...that's some mighty fine data gathering if they can detect motion sickness in a horse's running line...

I've got an idea of my own, which seems the perfect complement to this new innovation. How about allowing the spectators to sit on separated movable seats...so they can also race against one-another as they are racing alongside the horses "for every dramatic second"? That way...the fans can also bet on one-another while they are betting on the horses of their choice. Won't that appeal even more to the video game-crazed youths of today?

It seems like that would be a big distraction for the horses, probably a lot of "first time blinkers" in each race.

Can the announcer ride on top of the moving grandstand?

I'll go with the grandstand in the shape of a triangle with a one mile dirt surface, turf course, and synthetic surface. Rotating Grandstand big enough for 20K with some permanent seating around it.
Take that

Is this the same moveable grandstand GP used during their renovations?

We have so many big thinkers here at PA. Who would have thought?
Permit me to offer a suggestion and join the Big Thinkers group... Save some ground. Put that stupid "Amtrak Grandstand on the inside, dummies. That way it won't have to run farther (and therefore) faster, than the horses to keep up."

There would be no need for an announcer as everyone in the moving grandstand could plainly see who’s where all the time you’d be preaching to the choir...

Why not place the entire huge grandstand in the infield on a large rotating carousel...And give each fan his own pole to hold onto...
