Obama can point to 7 years of economic growth under his administration, compared to only 2 so far under Trump.
P.S. Neither can make a sound argument that the growth was because of their administration. With Obama, the growth was often in spite of his administration. With Trump, the results are inconclusive and remain to be seen.

For Trump... yes.
In general... no.
You're certainly entitled to like it but the general reception I think will be very "meh." A point... maybe two... tops.

Perhaps I am overly sensitive when it comes to cancer because this dreaded disease has played such a major role in my life...but there was a part of Trump's speech which really bothered me. Trump's wall figures to cost the American taxpayer anywhere between $8 and $88 BILLION, depending on whom you ask...and Trump readily declared that over $7 TRILLION has already been spent on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. And that beautiful little girl with brain cancer was brought to the speech so she could be told that Congress would be asked to allocate $500 million OVER THE NEXT 10 YEARS...in order to combat childhood cancer in this country? Or did I make a mistake in recalling the amount? $50 million a year to combat a disease which torments in the worst possible way so many totally innocent little kids? It just doesn't seem fair...IMO.

Hey, I thought the Israeli's cured cancer last week. It was particularly upsetting to me since I had Moh's surgery that day.

That $50M would represent a 25% increase above current federal funding for childhood cancer research, which amounts to $198M per year as of 2015.
So, given what is spent currently on research, it's not an insignificant amount.

There's not much one could argue with his speech tonight. It was smartly crafted. Not by him of course...I don't know of the last president who wrote his own SOTU address...so we can thrown that criticism out the window.

I didn't think it was well-crafted at all.
He'd throw out a social program... then red meat to the base... then a social program... then red meat...
We need sweeping insurance for pre-ex, perscription drugs, and paid maternity leave... but socialism is EVULLLL....
YMMV but I don't think it lands at all...

The US should cut OAS and Medicare right now!
They are both just pure unadulterated SOCIALISM
and should be ABANDONED for precisely that reason.
Come on America!
Get with it!
