Question Regarding e/m Change in Results Chart

The equibase chart has an a after American Pharoah on the result
chart .
The a can stand for aluminum pads or adjunct medication .
Had anyone heard an announced equipment change prior
to the race ?

You know what I wouldn't want to be wearing over this track at Belmont today: an aluminum pad. #AmericanPharoah #BelmontStakes .

He did run with an" aluminum pad } Saturday . So it had to be reported
as a change .

Paulick published a post race interview and Bob was asked about it . He
didn't elaborate just joked he was going to sell it on E BAY .

Might not have even needed it maybe just protection from a prior
tender sole . hopefully .

I thought he has been wearing an aluminum pad the whole time. I believe Baffert said it wasn't needed for the Derby but that he was running so well with it on that they didn't want to change anything.

This is the only race that has an "a" next to his result in Equibase .
Maybe it just has to be reported in NY tracks but it's not listed in
in any prior result . Haven't checked DRF though .

On the NYRA scratches and changes site I'm pretty sure it said "aluminum pad again" on Saturday morning.
