The Demise of the Nation State

I'm posting a link below to a pretty lengthy read from the U.K. Guardian publication written by a Rana Dasgupta. The topic deals with a coming "new world order" (although this phrase is not used in the article, per se).

After decades of globalisation, our political system has become obsolete – and spasms of resurgent nationalism are a sign of its irreversible decline.

What he does in this piece is give a bird's eye view of global political structures. While he doesn't get into a lot of detail, nonetheless this leftist make a pretty compelling case for why the nation-state political order that basically came unto the world scene in the 17th century is becoming extinct.

To whet everyone's whistle, I'll quote the four reasons he provides, he expands on each briefly during the article.

Why is this happening? In brief, 20th-century political structures are drowning in a 21st-century ocean of deregulated finance, autonomous technology, religious militancy and great-power rivalry.

I personally found Rana's secular, leftist viewpoints very interesting because the bible also prophecies that another world empire (possibly in the form of confederations of states) will rise up shortly before the Second Coming (Daniel 7, Revelation 12, 13, etc.).

I also found the piece fascinating because of all the world empires, the Roman Empire is the most intriguing, paradoxical and even mysterious. And often through his article he makes mention of Europe (the home of the old Roman Empire). Ironically, Europe "invented" the nation-state and Europe is also the spearhead of the "new global order" of things, having invented it's own confederation of states known as the EU.

In one sense in scripture, the Roman Empire has ceased to exist; but in another sense, it's also been laying dormant for centuries waiting like the Phoenix to rise up from the ashes. In Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the Colossal Statue in Daniel 2, many commentators mistakenly believe (I think) that the statue represents the four ancient world kingdoms, starting with Babylon and ending with Rome (this latter represented by the two strong legs (the East and West divisions of the empire). Yet, another form of this empire (albeit baser and weaker) is mentioned when we get down to the feet and toes of the statue, none of which is made entirely of iron.

It's a thought-provoking read. And while I don't agree with everything the writer said, I do agree with his basic premise that the [global] death of the nation-state political structure is imminent and inevitable. Toward the end of the article, he also offers the solutions to the current problems.

Bush Sr. was a confirmed globalist. And he wasn't shy about it. Here a couple of quotes by him:

We will succeed in the Gulf. And when we do, the world community will have sent an enduring warning to any dictator or despot, present or future, who contemplates outlaw aggression. The world can therefore seize this opportunity to fufill the long-held promise of a new world order – where brutality will go unrewarded, and aggression will meet collective resistance.
–President George HW Bush, State of the Union Address 1991

The question begging to be asked is: Who made the promise for a new world order? And when was the promise first made?

We have before us the opportunity to forge, for ourselves and for future generations, a New World Order. A world where the rule of law, not the law of the jungle, rules all nations. When we are successful–and we will be–we have a real chance at this New World Order. An order in which a credible United Nations can use its peacekeeping forces to fulfill the promise and vision of its founders.
—George H.W. Bush, March 21, 1991

In the link below there are numerous quotes, some going back as far as the early 20th century. The concept for globalism has been around for quite some time. Some of the quotes are fascinating, well worth the read so that everyone will have a heads up of where the world will end up.

Central banking developments of the late 18th to mid 19th centuries, used to finance the industrial revolution and open international markets, followed first by the continental, including Britain, response to the Napoleonic Wars and then the great wars of the 20th century that first dismantled the European Empires and second, the global empires, have been the major steps in breaking down the nation building of the pre-industrial revolution. US president George the First wasn't doing anything but advancing the dialogue he'd learned from that Ivy League education he got.

It's amazing how many US presidents since the last of the Civil War officers held the presidency have come from the exact same line of higher education institutes as George H W Bush.

I'm certain it's just a mere coincidence. Doesn't seem to matter which party either. It's still the same institutions.

It's been in the process of fulfillment for the last 2,000 years. But we must not forget that Jesus of Nazareth won't return until the "Man of Sin" (or some translations render that phrase the "Man of Lawlessness") is revealed, i.e. the antichrist.

The current world order is already under the rule of the Evil One; all that remains is that he give his power and his dominion of darkness to a man of flesh.

There were a line of Jewish poets and seers, for a lack of a better word, that ran from 1000BC to about 500AD (Those from about 50AD to 500AD were Christian, but still from the same lineage) that were pretty clear thinkers. They truly understood the human spirit and were able to extrapolate where the human spirit would ultimately lead the species. I'm not going to argue the presentation to the masses since that time, and how much of that thought was articulated by later "leaders" (most notably the Catholic Church and the Muslim Mullahs), but that doesn't take away from the mind boggling thought process, and ultimate understanding, of those early thinkers.

They truly understood the "Heart" of Man.

They must have written about "Greed" and "The Love of Money"
both being central forces behind globalization.

Did they understand it as the OT prophet Jeremiah did when he said essentially, "The heart is more deceitful above all else, and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?"

I debated with myself whether I should start a new thread for the specific subject that will follow or whether to simply insert this sub-topic under the big umbrella of this particlar thread. I think it belongs here because it truly accents the "world agenda", or more specifically the U.N. agenda. This is a fascinating subject and if you really want to see the direction in which very powerful and rich people, world organizations and world banks want to take all the nations, the following is a must read.

UN Migration Pact Crumbles As Attention Drawn to Disturbing 'Replacement Migration' Plan

Here's a tiny little excerpt to whet your whistle.

The pact reportedly seeks to make immigration a "human right" and "criminalize criticism of migration" as "hate speech."

Whoa...how Kool is that, heh?

IMO, one could interpret the above as call for a coalition of nations to fight against oppressive nations / leader and the evil they perpetrate. Similar to the coalition he put together to oppose Iraq. Not a call for all nations to give up their sovereignty in favor of a one world government.

Exactly. Many people, including Bush Sr., have talked about a new world order with absolutely no inference of a one world government. Woodrow Wilson used it in connection with the League of Nations. NWO means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Here is how Wiki describes it:
Quote:
The term "new world order" has been used to refer to any new period of history evidencing a dramatic change in world political thought and the balance of power. Despite various interpretations of this term, it is primarily associated with the ideological notion of global governance only in the sense of new collective efforts to identify, understand, or address worldwide problems that go beyond the capacity of individual nation-states to solve.
For all the chatter about it, here and elsewhere, no one has provided any evidence that Bush Sr. had any inclination toward one world government.

Economics and business rule the world now. The countries and politicians don't control as much as the corporations and banks do. That's just the reality of our world now. When people are on here giving Obama and Trump credit for the economy....its laughable. Its not even debatable at this point. When a standing President comes on TV and tells the world the economy will collapse unless these (Too big to fail) banks, investment firms and insurance companies must be "bailed out" to save the world. People should realize damn well who really controls things. Its been 10 years and people either forgot or they live in some Political, fantasy, fairyland. These guys (elected officials) are mouth pieces. The people in the House and Senate are even worse. It should be like NASCAR where their corporate sponsors are stickers on their suits. Remember, corporations are "people" now. Gee, why did that go through? lol

If anything the politicians can throw monkey wrenches in the "corporate system". The tariffs are an example. This is a determent to them and the markets are responding. There are other things affecting this too. The printing of money with no interest rate and the fact that wages have to increase soon. But they will let it tank until Trump has no choice but to call off the tariffs. We consume more than anyone. We are addicted to cheap Chinese crap. Theres no winning here. People will pay the tariff tax. Trump claims we are getting billions off of it. That's fine but you spend trillions fool. So, his rich off of tariffs line is total BS.

They have the American consumer by the balls. And we sort of deserve it. We just had Thanksgiving. Instead of sitting home with the family and being thankful. There were millions of mouth breathers trampling the doors down to get a "deal" on crap they really don't need. Yeah, that shit was from China. Its the Christian, thing to do. Trample over your fellow man for crap and material gain.

Notice all the news and especially the "right" are all bitching about France. Anything, to avoid what's going on here cause its a gonna tank until they get their way.
