scientists may have miscalculated the ocean temperatures 100 and 200 million years ago - after adjustments, the recent period is the most rapid rise EVER

For a period of about 5 years I lived a short walk to a Southern California beach where I would either jog, boogie board or swim almost daily. They would post the water temp on a chalkboard hung on the peer everyday. Between winter and summer the temp would vary from the mid 50's to low 70's. Consider that and we have "climate change" scientists claiming horrible disasters will occur with an ocean warming average of one degree. How anyone with a lick of common sense believes all the "sky is falling" predictions is beyond belief.

One should never underestimate the idiocy of the common sense deniers coming from the climate change crowd.

Common sense is not all that commonplace

Are they really trying to tell us that Climate Change theories can be radically changed simply based upon retrieving "accurate" temperatures from 100 to 200 million years ago?

If this is so damn accurate, then why are we still comparing data within the last 200 years based upon the simplistic measures from even recent decades?

Where do I get my Oxygen-18 Isotope thermostat?

So you're saying that since there's normal seasonal water temp variations along the shore of a CA beach, why would an overall rise in sea temperature have any negative effects?

Really??

Judging by past post I am assuming you get a lot of your knowledge from late night comedians or is most of your knowledge "tongue in cheek." In any case here is something by George Carlin that explains my position very well. He uses some rough language.

I believe what he's saying is that over the course of a year, the temperature of the nearby ocean changes some 15-20 degrees. However, climate scientists have warned that if the oceans warm by 1-2 more degrees, vast amounts of oceanic species will disappear due to their inability to adapt to such "extreme" climate fluctuations. It's a silly notion, and deserves to be ridiculed.
