When did this become a thing?

Apparently you have to use the word 'making' twice when describing the earning of too much scratch.

I just didn't know it was possible for "republicans" to accuse someone of making two much money.
On raw percentages my liability seemed about the same but my income from year to year can fluctuate quite a bit so... probably not the best reference point.

I don't think he was accusing people of making too much money. I think he was saying they made too much money this year to pay less in taxes this year, despite the tax cut.
You're so caught up in your agenda, you seem to be missing the obvious.

Its something Mosty would say and you'd call him right out on it.

I interpreted it as a gentle ribbing of Chad's post.I knew what he meant (a too high income makes one ineligible for the cut.) ,but some of us take everything so serious like.

Sarcasm fail...
Tom and I are playing nice to each other and Mike doesn't know what to do so he grabs his spoon and head toward the pot.

I really don't care how you and Tom play to each other. As long as you both follow the rules.

What? It's clear as day when you don't have a daily agenda to fulfill.

mostpost $313 might not seem like much, but if you put it percentagewise it could be a big chunk.

For someone to only benefit $313 it would mean 1 of 2 things: 1) taxable income very low with little tax paid or 2) many deductions lost because of limitations on SALT and the elimination of most miscellaneous deductions. Of course losing deductions because they exceeded limits mean that you were paying high property taxes and/or high state income taxes and/or high investment expenses which of course means you are either wealthy, a high earner or both.

Mostie you obviously were not the best in math in school, and to think people have to be extremely wealthy in order to be saving around $3000 thanks to the new tax law is quite laughable. A single person who makes $100k per year with no kids and uses the standard deduction will owe around $2700 less in federal taxes because of the new law. A family of four making the same amount who use the standard deduction will end up saving around $3000 less in federal taxes, mainly cause of the child tax credit increase of $1000 to make it $2000 per child now. If Tom is single and doesn’t have kids it’s fairly easy to see where he would fall in income based on these numbers and it isn’t in the so called top 10%. A good hint would be that Tom is saving around 4% in taxes on most of his income in the range of $82501-$157500 as that tax rate went from 28% down to 24% and this would easily allow him to owe around $3200 less in taxes.
