Jose Ortiz at Parx Today

I know the response to this is going to be "grrrrr the horses were 1/5 and 3/5" but basically he won two races at Parx today by a combined six inches that run second with 99% of the other jockeys on earth.

The guy can flat out ride. Watching him against Parx jockeys is like watching Lebron play in a college game.

Jose being a lot better than the Parx riders shouldn't be a revelation.

He has turned into perhaps the best rider in the country. On a slightly related note, am I the only one who has noticed he bears a striking resemblance to Derrick Rose?

I guess the rumor that Jose was caught using a buzzer at Parx was false? But Irad and Jose are excellent riders.

Not looking to disagree with you TLG but the entire country has a bunch of average, make too many mistakes jocks.

That's not saying much.

Where the heck did you hear that?

I neglected the 2nd part, my apologies.

He does look like Derrick Rose.

I also think Irad has a resemblance to Queen. Especially in the mouth to chin area.

I don't remember what Rose looks like. His face was distorted on TV last night every time Russ blew by him. 😀

(Just teasing, Rose played well last night)

I was excited (although not there) as I bet against his horses big time.

I don't bet on jocks like some people do but I do note who's on a horse for various reasons.

I have been thinking the same thing lately....thought it was just me becoming (more) cantankerous in my old age. While I don't follow NYRA (except for AQU inner), the colony in SCal is fair, at best.

He's been going to Parx to ride on a Monday or Tuesday a lot more frequently lately. The purses aren't that far off from Aqueduct so I guess he takes the easy money.

Easy money? There is no easy money at Parx, IMO. Both of Ortiz's mounts today TOWERED over their fields in apparent ability...and yet they both won by the narrowest of margins. In fact...his 7th race win looked so much like a loss to me that I lost a bet on the outcome of that photo to the guy sitting next to me at the OTB.

Every time he's ridden for Pletcher.

Obviously he's trying to break into the barn. I'm assuming he'll get first call for him on the inner track. The million dollar question is if he'll get any of Johnny or Javier's mounts.
