Now i know why CJ is so adamant that tracks post proper run ups. Or better yet, have no run ups at all. XY Jet, arguably one of U.S. quickest horse, just ran his first 1/4 in 23.5 at Meydan from a standing start.

Yes, it makes a huge difference. It would take a little getting used to but is better for everyone. I was laughing when the TVG guys were saying the Godolphin Mile was run in crawling fractions. They went the half in 47 which is actually quick with no run up.

Couple more jacked up races at Penn Saturday night, one route with nothing but a 1/4 and 1/2 mile fraction (no final time) and another route missing the 3/4 time.

Same old same old at MVR, plenty of races hand timed and poorly at that. Pretty pathetic for a brand new facility, but nobody seems to care.

Aqueduct's 7th had some issues today, think the beam was probably tripped early.

I was at work, didn't see it but maybe a pidgeon or seagull tripped it? Not kidding....

We have signs all over the plant, please don't feed the birds.

Yep, seen it happen before. Trakus has the race about .35 slower at every call. I think Trakus has it correct in this case.

I see the Q1 as 23 or 23 and slower. Just did a quick look. CB off but you're right, NO WAY that was 21 4/5.

Trakus has 22.38 or something like that, hard to imagine it is 23 in that case.

Why? Trakus is never wrong?

Just kidding, don't want to see any CJ/Cratos discussions here . I could be wrong.

EDIT: Just realized I was using the inner track pole, yes, 22 and change does look right......My apologies.

All good, I appreciate the input. I went and looked again to be sure.

Same old Lone Star Park I see. Opening night last night and race 7 has no fractions. Lone Star is one of the worst offenders in the nation for timer malfunctions.

March 13 Golden Gate March 9. Original clocking 21.76. Changed to 22.37. Sure looked like sub 22 to me. Even with a large run up to the 5 1/2 F pole.

MVR had a nice couple day run of no missing fractions but it was broken yesterday. Race 5 was poorly hand timed.

Also, two at EvD with no fractions yesterday also. Nothing new for that track either.

Keeneland is running turf races with new rail settings this year, 10 and 20 feet, but the timing system isn't set up to accurately time those races. Take the times with a grain of salt. Why bother timing races right, we're only bettors?
