In the late 90s, I worked at a venture capital company that was one of 2 VC companies that helped take Chipotle public (along with McDonalds). VC companies will have their fair share of strikeouts, but Chipotle was the 500 foot home run that made up for a lot of swings and misses.

Chipotle Philly alert: get it while it's hot
http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/201...re-restaurant/
Quote:
According to investigators, officers with the Newark Police Department were called to scene after receiving multiple reports of a male and female having sex on the roof of the restaurant.
When an officer arrived, he was on the opposite side of the street and clearly observed the couple engaging in sexual intercourse on the roof at the very front of the Chipotle building.

And these freakin cops are getting ridiculous. When you yell "STOP" to a young couple who are having "sexual intercourse"...do you expect them to stop what they are doing IMMEDIATELY?

I remember reading one of Armstrong's books years ago long before he admitted to Doping. He stated that his favorite thing to do after a long Tour de France grind was to treat himself and eat a Chipotle. Those huge Burritos are jam packed with calories if you don't watch the filling.
He said when he quit racing the first time and just sat at home, he would eat at Chipotle at lease once and sometimes twice a day. He put on a huge amount of weight. When he told his manager he wanted to announce his retirement, the manager stated he better loose some weight first so he would at least look semi athletic at the announcement and not embarrass himself.
I'm sure it's good food, I just never really ate there. Once or twice over the years, maybe, but not that I can recall recently. I'll have to give it another try thanks to this thread. ONCE. Don't need any extra pounds.

Went there a couple weeks back for the 1st time in quite a few years. Ordered the Sofrita burrito with black beans etc , grabbed a bag of chips and a beer. Cant believe I ate the whole thing, was really full...but the food was really good, and im not one for going out to eat often but look forward to my next sofrita. I think next time I will get it as a bowl, and mix in chips.

They have a great concept that the public has has remained
attracted to .
We have a Tito's Burrito's near me not bad but Chipotles with it's
simple menu is still better . Can't get that Cilantro - Lime rice at
any other Mexican place either .

"SORRY, NO CARNITAS."
http://www.myfoxdc.com/story/2784725...of-restaurants
Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- Chipotle says it stopped serving pork at hundreds of its restaurants after suspending a supplier that violated its standards.
Chris Arnold, a spokesman for the Mexican food chain, told The Associated Press it's the first time the company stopped serving a topping for its burritos and bowls. He said Chipotle learned of the violation by the supplier on Friday through a routine audit, and did not have a timeline for when carnitas would return to affected stores, about a third of its total base.

Have any regulars cut down on eating at Chipotle? I went once and was not overly impressed - I like Taco Bell better.

Taco Bell better than Chipotle? That's like saying Mighty Dog is better than Capital Grille.

I prefer the Japanese style
or Indian fast food. For Latino fast food , Peruvian is tops, takes longer to prepare, a 1 hr. lunch but worth it.
I have not been to chipotle in 4 years, Pass. People do love it though.
