I apologize for calling you stupid. It was more of a joke, because I thought you were a track steward.
BUT, look at your posts in this thread and try to justify them. And I will in return explain to you why I said you are stupid.
and no, I wasn't calling checkmark stupid. I was calling you stupid.

I understand the supposed "newbie" argument, but even giving them free pps probably won't help, at least pps as they now exist. Given this is a board theoretically populated by horseplayers, I'm sort of surprised people here don't have access to free pps?

Maybe I'm missing something.
the ADW I use does not offer pp's.
hollywood races which is run by the biggest gaming company in NA, penn national gaming.
one of these days I may join with another, if I don't move to las vegas instead.

DFRbets for the Free Formulator PP's. $50 bet = free card.
Even when NYRAbets, TVG/FD, Twinspires have promotions
for certain wagers, you can still drop $50 in DRFbets, then
use the ADW offering specials for the designated bets.
The only drawback from DRFbets is the "Bonus Bucks" you
get at the end of the month, good for... MORE PP plans, which
expire in 30-90 days, and you never use since your Free PP's get
credited first. If they could transfer "bonus bucks" into matching
wagering credits, it could move all my (admittedly modest) action
to them.

Until the DRF buys and operates a racetrack, paying purses to horsemen from their ADW, you are best advised to keep the wagering dollars in the game.

DRF Bets is my main ADW love Formulator, wish the CDI vs DRF dispute would end. I have the same issue with the free DRF credits used first however if you contact them they will carry over other plans.

Its such a joke, how much money does racing leave on the table since there is no organization between the tracks. Even the mob learned they could make more money working together than always against each other.

In Arizona we cant bet half the main tracks in the country since they are owned by stronarch.

The DRFBets ADW is a white label run by Xpressbet, hence the same portion (whatever it is) from every $1 bet which goes to the tracks from wagers made via Xpressbet goes to the tracks from wagers made via DRFBets.

So your assertion is that every single dollar placed with DRFBets flows through to the tracks? No way.

Again, if you want to support the Stronach tracks, play directly with Xpressbet/1st. If you want to support NYRA, play directly with NYRA Bets.

Exactly what is the value add to the long term health of this game provided by DRFBets? This is DRF expanding into an area that makes them no more than the leech that is Nassau OTB, Suffolk OTB, or similar.

The ADWs must be directly owned by the tracks with direct flow of the takeout to those track purses/operations. No other organization should touch that business or take a percentage.

In summary, do not cry about takeout rates if you are willing to keep these middle men in the wagering business. It really is that simple.

I agree that ideally it would be better without middle men, but most of these middle men (including the original OTBs) were created in the hopes of attracting handle that would otherwise not make it into the track pools at all. It would wind up with bookies or not get bet. So the intention was good. It's very debatable how much they help now. However, not all the tracks can afford the type of investment required to build their own ADW. So someone is going to get a piece of the action of those tracks even if it's another track.

Personally, I feel no moral obligation to use a product just to help a track out, but I do understand your point.

To me, it's on all these players to negotiate deals that maximize their revenue and win my market share with better software, better customer service, better rebates/perks, and better handicapping features.

That isn't even close to what Ellis said.

i think adw's are great. you make your deposit, make your bets, 10 seconds after the race becomes official, the money is in your account to do whatever you want with it. the adw has to settle out with the tracks and you don't wait like they do.

Taken out of context, true. Here's the flow.

This was followed by my quote.

My point was that DRFBets should not exist in the first place. Is there anywhere in the country where DRFBets is a legal ADW where XpressBet is not?

From the business side, $1 bet with DRFBets might be the same as $1 bet with XpressBet to the bettor, but DRFBets is "touching" that $1 and taking a fee for whatever value-add they are perceived to have. The result is that these two $1 bets are indeed different from a business perspective.
