You need to reread what I posted because I thought you guys were all about "fair" trade.

"No tariffs, no barriers, that's the way it should be — and no subsidies."

- Trump

Ever hear the phrase when you point a finger at someone you have four pointing right back at you?

The post I made above illustrates the absolute hypocrisy of this guy that you all buy into hook, line, and sinker.

The last two I mentioned are directly aimed at trade. The United States has a 5% import quota on dairy. Forget you goofy Canadians and your tariff... we won't let others sell their dairy here... period.

Then if our farmers sell to other markets and end up losing money... no worries... the taxpayer here will gladly step in and make them whole.

How exactly is that "fair" in your eyes?

They are a dictatorship. They don't care.

Plus they are buying and investing in Iranian Oil now that Total is forced to pull out.

since we got the tax cut, (for me, i happen to pay more in taxes), gas at the pump has gone from $2.20- over $3.00. food is up over 10%, parking tickets have gone up 25%. the only thing that i know that has gone down is my rebate at certain tracks..

this world is tough!

Let me fix that for you to reflect reality: new taxes on American consumers who decide that purchasing imported goods is in their own best interests, contrary to the voodoo economists in the White House.

The operative words there are "consumers" and "decide". We can't have that any more.

The president and his crackpot "economic advisers" have determined that American consumers are too stupid to know what is good for them, and are using taxes on imports, paid by consumers, to force them into proper economic decisions according to The Donald.

Let me see....who should I believe. A worldly businessman and his seasoned team of advisors or a snowflake upset with someone's demeanor.

Are tariffs are tax on consumers? Yes or no?

Do tariffs limit your choices as a consumer? Yes or no?

Try believing the facts.

The impact of the Trump steel tariffs was a big increase in steel prices by US steel makers. No increase in jobs, because the US steel industry is at near capacity already but can only provide about 75% of what we use.

The impact of the Trump tariffs on Canadian lumber was an increase of $6000 in the cost of the average American single family house. No increase in jobs, because the US lumber industry is at near capacity already but can only provide about 66% of what we use.

The impact of the Trump tariffs on Chinese solar panels was a big price increase to Americans, with a resulting decrease in demand and a decrease in jobs for American installers. Even if we start making more solar panels in this country, the increase in jobs will be minimal because the process is highly automated.

At the risk of repeating myself for the 47th time, Trump's own people said that his tariffs would increase the basic cost of living for Americans by up to 15%. That's for the average worker, not for the fat cats. That fact, and all of the above, have been largely ignored by the tariff hawks here.

P.S. Trump's "seasoned team" of advisers on tariffs are considered the real snowflakes by real world experts on both sides of the aisle. They are the reason that real "seasoned experts" like former Goldman president Gary Cohn keep bailing out of this administration.
