BUMP..
Finger Lakes just released their 2014 schedule - same old, same old.
Tom, do you know any of the Fazio family at Finger Lakes? Whenever they have one of their handicapping contests, there's almost always someone with that surname among the finalists.. seems like there are several of them, ladies included.

I have heard that name, but I don't know any of them.
Getting close to opening day.
I'll have to keep an eye out fro work outs when I drive by in the morning, now that it will light out.

That's tragic.
How the hell does a track present this rubbish and expect horseplayers to bet on it.....?

More boats out there this year than on Canandaigua lake I'm sure. Best thing to do is stay away, let the backside cannibalize its own money. The casino will be the only thing left standing soon enough. Sad story.

good question. i had a conversation once with an addiction counselor who said probably 1/2 of horseplayers are addicted to the sport.

A low number if you count the number who are addicted to finding a system to beat the races and not just those addicted to the betting.

And if any one of those favorites lost you would have had a overlaid payoff. That is the way horizontals work. When a track is dealing with too few horses and too many races to fill, this is also what occurs.
.
Too many tracks, too few horses in the thoroghbred game.
Tooo many tracks in the harness game as well, but the horse population is no an issue. Breed is more durable.

$11 winner in R3, the string is broken with a virtual bonanza comparatively.
