Sweatin' to the Ruling

Simmons Lawsuit

In what was apparently a first-of-its-kind ruling for which there was no established precedent, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has thrown out fitness guru Richard Simmons' defamation lawsuit against the National Enquirer for the tabloid's claim that Simmons was undergoing the transitioning process associated with an alleged forthcoming sex change operation. The judge, while acknowledging that a sizable percentage of the population may be prejudiced against transgender individuals, ruled that the Enquirer's story, even if false, was not sufficiently defamatory to constitute libel, unless specific harm could be shown to have resulted from it.

The guy is rather strange, it wouldn't shock me if the story was true. He definitely isn't very masculine nor wants to be.

If the story was false, the suit shouldn't have been thrown out.

PeeWee was real popular around the time I lived with a girlfriend and her 3 children from a previous marriage who were ages 5-8. I think they had all of Peewees moves and watched them over and over. And my girlfriend wondered why I was always at work or the race track.
