Fixed Race ?

Watch the replay of the 3rd race at Will Rodgers Downs for 9/15/17. The Jockey on the , who to me, appears to be in the lead, sits back hard on the horse about 50 ft from the wire to allow the to win the race. After the race those two horses stay side by side and there appears to be a conversation between the two jockeys.

Looked like he was coming out and the jockey was trying to do something...maybe the saddle slipped some. No idea what happened.

This thread should be closed & deleted, waste of time watching this for conspiracy theories, and it was only a 400 yard race!

Watch the head on---some green ass horses in that race.

jockey definitely restrained him very late... either worried about him bearing out or maybe a physical issue with the horse?

not for nothing, but what exactly does the distance of the race have to do with anything?

It sure looked like the jockey on the wanted the to win. You should write the stewards at Will Rogers Downs.

You can't just post replays. A lot of tracks provide replays on site but Will Rogers isn't one of them.

You can see any replay you like through your ADW, at least all the ones I'm aware of currently.

Maybe the idea that you could just break awkwardly and cost your horse all chance at that distance, rather than get the lead and then suddenly throw out in the anchor in full view of everyone?

This happens in QH racing all the time. Especially with the babies. 4 was lugging out badly. If he didn't do that he might have crashed into the other horses.

Quarter horses come out of the gate very quickly, and not always in a straight line. A jockey would be taking his life in his own hands to try and engineer an even worse start, and it would be by no means be less obvious then taking a hold later on.

The race went odds on over 2nd favorite, and I cannot believe you could make more money assisting that result then you would lose in purse money.

Bad riders, young, green horses.

By the way, if that race is any indication, the guy doing the charts at WRD is among the worst ever.

My original reference was in regard to the annoyance of this replay wasting my time, even if that replay was only 20 seconds long for such a short race, wasn't intended to be a commentary on the ability to alter a race's outcome on it's distance. Sorry if the joke was lost.
