If the horses could choose their race, they'd probably choose the
OAKS!!
I think it's amazing every year how much differently some of these Derby horses look
after the Derby, as opposed to before the Derby.
Many of them have actually worn down,
- but also when Derby fever 'breaks' it's back to reality for most of the field. - I knew his favorite color and how often he took a dump, but he's never going to win another graded stakes race.
And then there are one or two, that you thought you knew who he was, and they turn out to be a late-bloomer like a Gun Runner.
