I wonder if anyone ever was at this one?

Queensbury Downs, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. (previously Exhibition Park)

Spent my youth there with my father. Best upbringing I could have. Alternated harness and thoroughbreds spring to fall.

Shenandoah is still there and used for workouts eveyday but hasn't had live racing since closing in '74. It always was an interesting set up since Charles Town is 200 yards away.

Park Jefferson in South Dakota, not to be confused with Jefferson Park. PJ is now being used as a automotive race track. Jefferson Park was still there in 98 when I was stationed in New Orleans.

Liberty Bell also used to run thoroughbred cards. But it's probably best known for its (crooked) harness action.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Duquoines [sp?], the original home of the Hambeltonian. Closed when they put in a riverboat casino across the river.

I believe they still run the World Trotting Derby at the DuQuoin County Fair (Illinois State Fair?) in "Downstate" (Southern) Illinois in the Fall, although I think they didn't last year due to the condition of the racing surface, and may have run it at a Chicago area track instead. I don't think that change is permanent yet, but I don't follow the Harness news close enough to know. I know they aren't what they used to be, of course, although I don't think they're totally gone yet. I could be wrong, though.

One of the dumbest things ever done was converting Sportsman's Park into a CART Indy style autotrack. They'd literally bring in 1000's of cubic yards of dirt for the T-breds. It only lasted a few years. It was a cozy bullring at one time and no place better to watch racing in the spring time.
