Fonner Park

Good to see that they are raising purses and things are looking up somewhere. Cannot bet it in the US due to HISA rn, but the CEO opened the door to start simulcasting again eventually during an interview with Steve byk at the racing symposium

Was unaware ground was broken for the hotel. Artist renderings look spectacular. I met with Chris Katulak during a visit there last spring, and he was desperately hoping to pipe out the product, but said he was getting resistance to being a part of HISA.

200?
On track, or in the bar?

In the bar. There were probably 1500 to 2000 people in the grandstand. They had the Nebraska State Wrestling Championship in the arena next to the track. People were going back and forth a lot. Fun day.

For non-HISA tracks, Fonner Park has about the same attendance and handle as Lone Star, which has a population base 100x larger.

Doesn’t it feel great not having those pesky CAWs hounding you
But in all seriousness, this is what is great about horse racing.

46k at OP today
1.3M bet on-track at SA

People still go to the track when the tracks give an effort to draw them
