So whenever an Arc winner comes to the BC Turf it seems like they should have the race at their mercy, yet we're still waiting for the first one to pull off the double. I feel like after the race the excuses were apparent, usually the horse was over the top already off their Arc win, or they didn't handle the ground in the US or they traveled poorly, but it's always something.
My question is using forward thinking, what could Enable's post-race excuse be this year? With a light schedule she could be peaking in her 3rd start off the layoff, connections have had the BC in mind for awhile it seems & aren't just trying to squeeze in one more big payday, CD turf course is usually pretty fair & she seems to handle different ground types OK, and having just watched the Arc it seems like she's pretty handy so hopefully wouldn't be too pace dependent. Point is it seems like she should be a cinch, so can anyone help present a more cynical take on her chances before I single her on top every which way?

1) Enable was injured this year just before her scheduled reappearance in June. She was in full training and suffered a knee injury. So she was lightly raced this year, not by design, but out of necessity. Also, the injury was recent, as opposed to late last year, so there's a possibility that she was rushed to make it back in time for the Arc repeat.
2) Had Sea of Class worked out a better trip in the Arc, it's very likely that she would have blown the doors off of Enable. The former's jockey had her hopelessly last entering the straight and had to slice through traffic just to get into the clear. By the time that happened, Enable had cleared the field by 3 lengths, and yet Sea of Class nearly inhaled her anyway, closing with powerful strides to the wire. So in essence, for want of a clear and better-timed run, Enable might be entering the BC off a defeat. She's certainly not coming off an open-length romp which had been her norm.
3) Enable's only defeat occurred on a good-to-firm turf course, which she is likely to encounter on BC day. However, that loss came off a layoff in her 3yo debut, and furthermore she later romped on a good-to-firm turf course in I think the Irish Oaks.
4) Stablemate Roaring Lion, entered this weekend in the Champion Stakes against another stablemate in Cracksman, could also appear in the BC Turf (though he's also been mentioned for the Classic). Should Roaring Lion win the Champion--or even if he doesn't--he is the best 3yo in Europe by far and certainly a solid threat to Enable if he shows up in the same race.

I think you have to include this horse in horizontal wagers but for the race itself it might be a good stand against. I think this horse is fantastic and the BC is so lucky to have a two time Arc winner come over. She is a very handy type and has the ability to be placed in good spots early on in the running. She makes her own trips and that is a big part of her success. I do think that the early pace in this case might be faster than she is used to and therefore could compromise her. I believe her trip around the course will be more of a challenge. It is a big ask since she was obviously trained up to fire her best shot in the Arc. This is great news and really brings an international star to the proceedings. Now if we can just get Winx to show up

As things stand at the moment I would have Enable as the most likely winner but I don't think there is any value in her odds and couldn't back her at that short price. She did very well to win the Arc bearing in mind the problems she has had this year, Gosden said she also had a temperature in between her prep run at Kempton and the Arc, so all in all it was a great performance. On the day Sea of Class probably put in a better performance but her fate was sealed by the draw. To get so close was remarkable and I don't blame the jockey at all, in fact Doyle gave her a brilliant ride.
I love Roaring Lion and if he travels to the BC I would have to give him a shout. Unfortunately I would be very surprised if Gosden sends him to take on Enable (although much will depend on the owners). He is running this Saturday in the QE II at Ascot now instead of the Champion Stakes because of the ground. The QE II is over the straight mile which will have better ground than the round course. The ground still won't be great as there has been a lot of rain here recently. It will be a big ask to take him to America with only a two week break, especially if he has a hard race.

Is X, xpress bet? I probably need an account to see the odds? They're powering NYRA bets as well no? I tried my Nyrabets login ..no.
I had an account there and tvg but its been inactive.. I wonder what # of years have to go by for me to qualify again for new member bonus? anyone?
Could be a good Breeders cup day play for me, new member bonus at TVG and X again.
I've been on Bovada. long/long time, when it was Bovada.lv. Always good, always improving. The tools are nil, but cash back is high. I play $1000 churn and come back next day and they juice me $40-$50. Bovada, also, I confess that I like to dip into the casino when I'm playing horses sometimes. Single deck blackjack mostly.
Bovada is Recommended by me They got hit by whales bigger than they could handle.. but took the bets, went underwater, confessed, and paid everybody in installments... but they paid. and were 100% transparent that they got hit, but they would pay and they did pay.

The exchange, only available in New Jersey. That is biggestal99's favorite topic by far.

Todays X price is only Play 1.67 as Lay is 1.87
Looks like the play money has dried up
1.80 was a gift as Enable should not lose.
wonder what the PM price will be (1-2) (not 4-5 for sure)
and yes the X is my little toy that i love so very much.
it never grows old. (even when I lose).
