Louisiana Breds

We are fortunate to have some pretty good La breds racing right now.

Tumbarumba won the Gr3 Fred Hooper at GP last month, recording a 97 Beyer
Ova Charged stormed to victory vs open company in the 100k Mardi Gras yesterday at FG, earning a 102 Beyer
Touchuponastar easily won a La bred Stakes race a few weeks ago at Delta with a 101 Beyer, his 4th 100 + Beyer of his career. Last year he ran 2nd in the Gr3 Sexton Mile at Lone Star. Kind of disappointed that they kept in state bred company, considering his run last year at LS and that he defeated Tumbarumba earlier in the FG meet. Crossing my fingers and hoping Delhomme points him toward the Gr2 New Orleans Classic on the La Derby undercard in late March.
Behemah Star is another nice one, but not on the level of the above three

Can't ever remember when we had three solid La breds like these at the same time.

The 2000s-2010s were flush with win machine La-breds:

Happy Ticket
Star Guitar
Costa Rising
Sunbean
Vicars in Trouble
Hallowed Dreams
Tortuga Straits
Superior Storm
Mobile Bay
Heitai
String King

And the late 90s had some war horses like Scott's Scoundrel, Free Spirit's Joy, Zarb's Magic, & Sarah Lane's Oates

I love Touchuponastar. Sadly doesn’t look like they are going to run him in the New Orleans Classic.

Talking about a La-bred win machine, how about Monique Rene back in the early 80s.

Ova Charged is a monster, and might be a real star on turf.

Hallowed Dreams was hot stuff when I first joined the internet era and could follow the national scene easier: a win machine.

LA-bred Manama Gold won a big race in Dubai this week, and earned Kentucky Oaks points doing it.

Tumbarumba lost a tough photo in the Gr2 Gulfstream Park Mile on Saturday after an all out stretch brawl.

Jack Hammer earned one of the weekend's top Beyers with a 100 in winning the off-the-turf Eddie Johnston Memorial Stks on Saturday at FG for his 3rd easy win in a row, running his lifetime record to 8:6-0-0. He has developed into a serious runner.

Not so great news: he's also entered in the state bred Star Guitar Stakes the next day

They got 15 races on closing day. That’s crazy
