I was reading the column listed below...and found myself wondering why our handicapping conversations on this site don't go as smoothly as the conversation of these two guys. Why can't WE -- the members HERE -- engage in constructive talk such as this...so the beginning players who visit can be the beneficiaries of some really meaningful advice?

Justin was correct about Black Betsy in S.A. 4th.
Quote:
Race 4: Pass. (The firster Black Betsy is worth keeping an eye on here for exotic purposes or if you don’t want to single the big favorite in horizontals. Training like a runner and goes for smart trainer.)
|
And I love the guy's writing!! Not to mention his handicapping. This note today was a favorite... Priceless.

Race 6: #2 Kyriaki.
Second-longest shot on the ML at 20-1. We don’t like the blinkers going on, but this mare has more early speed than one might think (see Pace Projector), and her last race was better than it looks on paper. Has good post and underrated rider who knows how to sit still rather than annoying his mount all the way around the racetrack. Chance to get involved in exotics at huge price.

Marc, you are so surrounded by good people. The piece on longshots was exceptional.

On the contrary he may be, but he's good @ 19-1, paying $41.60, Justin hits another longshot.

Second-longest shot on the ML at 20-1. Race two back was better than looked. Nothing at all wrong with the race she ran last time. In tough field today. There are runners in here. But this filly has a shot to get involved at a huge price.

No Marc, thank you. The hard work is so appreciated. I smile when I see anyone's efforts this successful. I hope you all continue to grow by leaps and bounds. You've put together an incredible team.

Still in production, had to suspend programming mode until my vision is better. Since our figures go back to 2004, changes will be gradual.

Race 4. winner paid $11.80 McHeat
Race 6. winner paid $84.20 horse's name? HOLY SH**
Race 8. place paid $5.00 Industrial Policy
Race 9. show paid $2.60 Gold Journey
Gentlemen, y'all keep buying those TFUS past performances, but don't sit all afternoon like I have today, watching DUKE and others making their way to the Sweet Sixteen.
Good on, "His Contrary Self", for going 4 for 4 with ITM finishers and a boxcar winner that makes up for a whole lot 'o losers! I love reading truly good news here at PA.
Roll on, Justin!!

If Mario Gutierrez had any clue whatsoever how to ride that downhill course the horse that placed in the 4th would have won. Easily the best horse.
Gutierrez is absolutely awful on that course. Worse than Martin Garcia, who's horrendous.

Conversely, IMO the best downhill course rider, who still gets a few prices, is Gary Stevens......

I agree. Difficult to believe this, but in general Stevens slips under the radar now and then, and definitely gets ignored on the downhill quite often. I think it's because he really doesn't ride for any of the "turf" trainers.
