I can't really tolerate brown liquor. However, on Kentucky Derby day I will make a a mint julep with either Bulleit bourbon or rye.
Speaking of bourbon, there is a commercial for Tincup where these guys go rock climbing and when they get to the top - at night mind you - they start passing around the mountain whiskey. All I can think of is, which one of them will be the first to fall off the cliff?

It's a safety measure. Drink, fall asleep, get up with first light and climb back down.

Don't drink very often, but I like my bourbon in my coffee. Or anything in coffee.
Except scotch. That makes it altogether too bitter.

Finally got around to a little higher end lunch last week. A little celebration of the wife eye surgeries going well. She’s 20/20 in both eyes now and still some swelling to go down. Very happy w these implantable lenses.
I’m finding that along with some great Steak places all over Houston, Red Snapper and some other great fish dishes can be had in small hidden out of the way restaurants. Really enjoying it. In fact I found a crab cake that rivals Baltimore. Close to as good but still a little short. I had a couple Makers Mark in a tall glass n Coke. Excellent pairing w the fish.

Funny...thought the same thing....the "Tincup" whiskey is pretty smooth...pretty close to some of the well known Kentucky brands...for bit less money....

Being a bourbon guy I received some Woodford Reserve for Christmas and really enjoyed its smooth taste. I have not tried WR in years and was happy to enjoy it again.

Boozing it up at night on a cliff - natural selection at work.
They should change the name from Tin Cup to Pine Box.

Did I read somewhere on here that you are or once were a radio DJ? I'll bet you are/were a hoot to listen to. You are very entertaining...so many funny and witty comments.
