During the 100 Years Revolutionary war, a French soldier asked a British prisoner why the Brtis wore RED coats in to battle, making them easy to see.

The red coat hides the blood of a wound, so that the other soldiers will not be distracted by casualties and keep on fighting.

The next day, the entire French army showed up to battle wearing brand new, BROWN pants.
