Trudeau threatens grocery chains

https://themessenger.com/business/ca...ces-government

This guy thinks he is a dictator.

I would close every grocery if I was leading one of the grocery chains in Canada

We could use some of that down here. Prices all over the map.

Lots of price gouging going on.

And selection is for ****.

I’ve been trying to get Durkee’s famous sauce for months. Finally ordered it at a premium on Amazon.

From reading the article, it's hard to ascertain exactly what the government is threatening to do, there's this:

".....empower the Bureau to block collaborations that stifle competition and consumer choice, particularly in situations where large grocers prevent smaller competitors from establishing operations nearby."

Exactly how are they going to accomplish this? Don't they already have anti-monopoly laws?

It is illegal to open up a fruit stand next to an apple stand, and give away apples, or sell them at a very cheap price. These laws are already in place everywhere, (but just about impossible to enforce, I'll admit.)

From the article:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last month that his government was considering imposing taxes on the grocery chains if they did not develop measures to grapple with rising food prices.

How come every Democrat thinks a business will take a tax increase out of profits? Are they that stupid? The only way they would be forced to is if the competition isn't hit with a tax increase.

Too funny. All that is going to do is raise food prices. That sounds like our leaders here, who tried to pass an Inflation Fighting Bill which would print more money.

Trudeau would have to take them to court and prove they were guilty, which would be complicated and costly and require whistleblowers. This would take a long time too with expensive lawyers.

The world will be better off as soon as more people understand the arrogance and sociopathic qualities driving people like this and throws them into the scrap heap of history.

I'm not even sure people understand the evil of the behavior yet.

Very few people seem to understand you can agree with a policy and still think it is immoral or evil to impose it on vast numbers of people that strongly disagree with you (let alone when you disagree with the policy). Trudeau is a totalitarian, and an arrogant incompetent one at a that. He is an evil human being.

I use it with a butter sauce on my wangs.

Durkee’s famous sauce is for a fried egg samwich on toasted sourdough with a slice of raw onion, avocado and a few anchovies.

You’d have to be a monkey not to know that.

Dude if you don’t like him don’t go up there. We got the same guy here except he don’t speak French and he sleeps all the time.

There are a few things from Canada I like:

Canadian Club reserve
Crown Royal black
Wiser’s 18
Tim Horton’s donuts
Nanaimo bars
Some of their women.

Not to worry. If I can’t get them I’ll just go back to sleep.

If he was some isolated vermin in some far away land, I'd hardly notice. The problem is that he's one of several vermin around the globe in power in major nations. People like Trudeau are a like a communicable disease. If the world doesn't figure out his evil nature soon enough, there won't be any free countries left. He's not just a man with whom I disagree on policy or priority. That's not a problem. He's an evil man.

Biden is a corrupt incompetent that at his peak wasn't qualified for a significant job in government, let alone the presidency. It's the people pulling his strings that are the vermin in this county. They have to be gutted from government. I'm not a Trump fan, but I have to think if the democrats win the next election it's over for this country. It will never be a land of opportunity and freedom again. I'm not we sure can recover from where we are now, let alone where these scumbags will take us over the next 5 years. Every institution of government is wildly corrupt and incompetent, the media is wildly corrupt, and we are living in some kind of immoral upside down world where bad is good and good is bad. It's a morally sick country.
