Cat seizure
My cat had a seizure yesterday...scared the shit out of me. Lasted about 30 seconds flopping around like a fish...she peed all over over...took her about 5 minutes to come back to normal, after she seized she kind of stayed frozen in this weird posture for a coupla minutes...ever since then when she walks she keeps shaking her feet kind of like they do when they have wet feet, but her feet are dry. Broke my heart seeing her like that, something about animals suffering just kills me. She's only 3 years old and has always been healthy, but I've got a real bad feeling about this--especially the shaking the feet thing, nerve damage?
Never seen anything like it before, taking her to the vet this afternoon, wish me luck.
Thought with all the animal people on this board maybe someone here has had a cat do this before? How did it turn out?

Sorry to hear about your cat.
Reminds me of a great dog my significant other had many years ago. It would occasionally have siezures too. It even knew when they were about to happen and would come over to where you were, lay down then it would happen. They'd pass and after a short time he'd be OK. He lived to be pretty old. Hope you pet does too.

Yes, indeed, Chick, it is sickening to see one of God's little critters hurt or unhealthy. Having had feline companions almost my entire life, I can certainly empathize with your emotions.
Take your little furry friend to a good vet and get her checked out. Hope all goes well with her -- and you, too.

Chickenhead.....
I wasn't aware cats could develop epilepsy.
I have a 7 year old rat terrier, Girly who has canine epilepsy.
She has infrequent seizures.

I've been contacting this group since my Girly first had a seizure.
There are medications and treatments for epilepsy. Let's hope it is nothing more serious for your little kitty.

Have to wait for the blood tests, doc says that epilepsy is rare in cats even amongst those who seize, most cats who seize have some other problem. Basically sounds like for most cats they never know why as its too expensive to really find out, they mainly just rule out epilepsy. Lots of possibilities still on the table, hoping for good news.
Thank you all for your good wishes, I'll pass them on to Mia.

I have 5 Cats including Hammerhead who is 15 years young. If you haven't taken the cat to a vet keep a close watch. They have a uncanny knack for healing. A vet is the better way to go, but sometimes becomes impossible, if they are wild like 4 of mine are. I have had as many as 30 feral cats when I lived on the beach a few years ago, and watched them come around after some pretty serious illnesses or fights. Trying to isolate them was my biggest problem as they trusted no one.
Best of luck.
