Giacomo and Handicapping Magic

Read on another forum that Giac came up as the "fulcrum" horse ala Pizolla.
I use Bris figs with my HM and sure enough...he did.
"fulcrum" horses (according to the book and many posters) run 1 or 2 frequently.
Did I remember this or even thnk about it...noooooo.
Ahhh, the excitement of being at the Derby..Guess I threw my brains away.

Oh Monty, Monty..should I pick door 1 or 2 or maybe 3..Oh Monty, Monty

I know by Pizzola's definition there is no way in the world Giacomo is the fulcrum horse.

Using BRIS figures, how many points at the E2 call would be considered atypical?

CJ
4 pts would be atypical.
Strictly last race and no more than 5l away at 2 call and finish.
I will review again. I may have been anxious to find some answer. Check out the post by Tom on your forum under "fulcrum".

Buzzard's Bay then Wilko by BRIS numbers.

Closing Argument by mine by the way, though I missed it. At least if, as I think, an in the money finish qualifies as a good race too.

Oh well....thanks CJ
I was close.

I'm glad somebody had him, but I didn't.

I'm no fulcrum expert. I thought if the last race qualified, the matching race did not have to be competitive, just had to qualify the last on pace as not being non-typical. Again, I don't remember for sure, maybe someone else knows the answer.

When I use BRIs or TSN pace figs for the fulcrum, I want at least one other race within 4 points.

Pizzolla gave his Derby analysis that you could get at his ITS site and the horse he was "touting" was Greely's Galaxy. He pretty much discounted Giacomo. However a friend of mine using MPH manually had the horse 2nd but he's not a win bettor and blew the tri. Some guys at the Sartin sites also had the winner.

For The Record

The fulcrum horse, per TMM, was High Fly.

Say what Ken? What does your post have to do with fulcrum pace? Sometimes your posts really confuse me. JimL
