The drop from 50->20 last race, where he took no money, and ran evenly in the back threw everybody off.
You would have thought he'd have taken money or done running on the drop last time at CD. Too many interesting alternatives in a big field.
DWL certainly didn't tout

15 morning buzz looked tremendous in the post parade. I threw him into a wide grouping of 'A's for a pick3 but I wish I had bet some WPS on him.
Been zigging when i should be zagging, and getting photo'd or headscratched a lot in a humbling opening weekend.

I don't like Dancing All Night whatsoever. I'll be surprised if she's in the exacta.

Sort of liking the here, big figure in the slop 2 back, second off for Eddie, and the price is right at 3-1.

Eloquent Riddle is a good price on win
.........................
I thought I was in a good spot when my 2 squared off vs the 4. Wrong again.
5 bailed me out in the pick3

If I'm in to pick bets, I hope I've got a handful here because I don't think that anyone is hopeless. With that said, there are horses like Slam Chowder - who I love in almost every way here, but... - that run hard time and again but even in good form just seem averse to winning.
So as I go about liking just about every horse and thinking it is probably just going to be too tight a field for me to find one to play at a good price, I finally scroll down to Midnight Bounty. This mare is up, and should stay way up, at around 20-1.
Of course there is a good reason - she was vanned off last time after failing to finish. I'm not one to play these vanned off in last as some kind of angle, but I can be an optimist at 20-1. She was running very well anywhere from $12,500 to $20,000 in the few races before her most recent and had been claimed a few times, including a Klesaris claim-back of her.
She's a little slower than a few in general and has no Saratoga experience, but she's a trier when she isn't getting vanned off. You draw a line through that race and she's probably half her current price at best. I can swing away.

I'm a day late and a dollar short with the . Price is going up and JHS made the pick already. Not the most likely but not the least likely, plenty of reasons to skip the others on the inside. I have her win/place. Was going to dutch her with the 2 before the odds came out so far apart.

Third back win in the wet vs. similar probably taking money. Claim pattern very choppy though. And she's projected to have the lead on a slow pace.

Champagne Ruby is in top form for a hot barn.

Covenant is legit but at odds-on in her second start over a muddy track at Saratoga - the race begs you to find an alternative.
Though 7-2 on four seems like a real option, I'm not too sure I can let 10-1 on Tiz The Light go by.
She ran well enough in the debut in California and then ran a real stinker trying seven-eighths at 8-5 in the second start. Now she's over here and they didn't get in a hurry to drop in for a tag off the bad race to get the Saratoga win, they go right back in against the runners. This isn't a dopey barn and you'd think if the pedigree were to give any indication, an outsidish draw on an off-track should be a welcome scenario.

I'm with JHS again on the . Trainer's good with third time starters among other things, and seems overbet.
