If the Presidential election were held today...
If the Presidential election were held today, Trump would win quite handily.
The liberal left, socialist, raise taxes party are grasping at straws. They hate the rich (although many of them are), but their solution (as always) will be to raise taxes on the rich so they can give away the store to their non-rich voting friends.
We're going to have two years of money and time wasting rhetoric about how they can solve all the problems of the world, but they'll only do that by taxing and spending and attacking Trump every step of the way. What else is new?
They've got nothing. No candidate stands out--yet. All of that money they will raise over the next two years could solve (or greatly alleviate) the homeless problems in three major cities--Seattle, San Fransisco, and Los Angeles. But that will never happen because their goal isn't to improve America it is to disprove everything else.
The best ticket, with the two candidates that would have the greatest chance of being elected, Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell, the two most brilliant and popular people on the face of the earth (just ask them), will not form a ticket or run for President, because they would then have to forego their 8 million dollar + yearly salaries. Heaven forbid they do something for the greater good.
What this all means is that the Democrats have nothing. They are embarrassing themselves. (There are a couple of dark horses I have my eye on, but we will have to wait a little bit longer to see how things pan out.) And they will waste two years of everyone's lives in the process.
Two years is a long time. Anything could happen, but as things stand at the present moment, Trump would win.
I guess that in the overall scheme of things it is better to have a lying douche bag piece of shit as President than a lying douche bag piece of shit socialist as President.

I think Barack Obama would beat President Trump and also unify all facets of the dysfunctal Democrat Party. Now let me see....how can the party legally have BO actually run the country. Should be a great democrat convention.

Do they have an "acclamation by adoration" rule hidden somewhere in their operating principles?

All things being equal...
Barn, you surprised me.
I congratulate you on being able to have a non-polarized, non-agenda-based distinction.

Sanders will not win the primaries. Harris will be the nominee.
Callie and New York Primaries are early this time out.

If the election were held today... this map is actually generous to Republicans. AZ, GA, and NC are in play for Democrats. They are a reach but are in play.

Obama will declare that he has been "Born Again," this time in the USA, so he can run!

It doesn't matter if the election is held today or in November 2020, if Trump runs he'll win 35-40 states.
The only problem is that Mitch McConnell has already gone on record suggesting to GOP incumbents running in 2020 to run away from Trump and the Trump Agenda.
This stupidity caused the GOP to lose their majority in the House in 2018 and will result in a GOP bloodbath in 2020.
